About the program

Education changes a girl’s options for life—but only when she can learn in safety, with the support and freedom to imagine a future of her own. We work with girls and the people around them to make that possible.

We work to improve systems and social norms so girls can learn safely and pursue their dreams, free from gender-based violence and child marriage.

Why it matters

A girl should never have to choose between safety and learning.

Child marriage, gender-based violence, stigma and unequal expectations can interrupt education long before a girl reaches her potential. Our work addresses both the immediate risks girls face and the systems and social norms that sustain them.

What we focus on

Action that connects people, services and systems.

We address immediate barriers while helping build stronger conditions for the long term.

01

Safe learning environments

We help strengthen spaces where girls can learn, speak up and seek support without fear.

02

Protection from violence

We build awareness of child marriage and gender-based violence, alongside clearer pathways to support.

03

Confidence and life skills

Girls build the knowledge, voice and practical skills to make informed choices about their futures.

04

Community action

Families, educators and local leaders are engaged to challenge harmful norms and strengthen protection.

How change happens

Community first. Connection throughout.

01

Listen

We begin with the experiences, priorities and ideas of girls, young women and their communities.

02

Connect

We connect knowledge, people and services so support becomes practical and reachable.

03

Strengthen

We build local capacity and relationships that can sustain progress beyond a single activity.

The change we work toward

Progress visible in lives and systems.

These are the changes this program is designed to contribute to over time.

  1. 01

Girls participate in learning with greater safety and confidence.

  2. 02
